Comparing Set and Custom Packages
Set and custom packages each offer their own distinct advantages. However, to make an informed choice, it’s important to consider not only the pros but also the potential drawbacks of each option.
Set Packages
Pros:
Securing Your Date with a Deposit: By placing a deposit, you ensure your wedding date is locked in, providing peace of mind and confirming your booking.
Book Over a Year in Advance: You have the flexibility to secure your photographer well in advance, ensuring availability for the most popular dates.
Best Features at Your Rate: You’ll receive a package that is tailored to your rate, with the most suitable features included, offering excellent value for the price.
Complimentary Engagement Session: A free engagement session is included, providing the opportunity for a pre-wedding photo shoot to get comfortable in front of the camera.
Free 1-Year Anniversary Gift: As a special touch, you’ll receive a gift to commemorate your first wedding anniversary.
Cons:
Limited Customization: Once the package is selected, you won’t be able to remove features. You can only add on extra options, so customization is limited.
The Earlier You Book The Better.
Booking 6 months to a year in advance is typically ideal to secure your date. While I will still do my best to accommodate last-minute bookings, the chances of being available for weddings booked less than three months in advance are slim.
Deposit Requirement: To secure your date, a deposit must be made as soon as possible after deciding to book. Delaying the deposit could risk losing your desired date. Deposits are Non-Refundable regardless of whether the wedding is canceled. The deposit secures the date, and due to the number of couples I may have to turn away, it serves as a safety net.
Longer Delivery Time: Depending on the package you choose, the delivery of your final images can take between 4-6 weeks, so it requires a bit more patience.
Custom Packages
Pros:
Complete Flexibility: Custom packages allow you to choose the exact features and services you need, whether it's specific photography styles, additional coverage, or special requests, ensuring your package perfectly matches your vision.
Option to Exclude Features: If there are certain services you don’t need or want, you have the option to exclude them, tailoring your package to your preferences.
Best for Short-Notice Weddings: Custom packages are ideal for couples who need to book a photographer on short notice, whether due to a cancellation from another photographer or other circumstances.
Quick Turnaround: Custom packages come with a faster delivery time for your photos, ranging from 2-4 weeks, depending on the selections you’ve made. This is ideal for couples who want a quicker turnaround on their images.
Cons:
No Complimentary Engagement Session
Unlike the pre-set packages, does not offer a complimentary engagement photo session.
Booking Deadline: Custom packages must be booked at least six months before the wedding. While I will make every effort to accommodate earlier bookings, availability becomes limited the wedding is booked earlier.
The Possibility of the Date Not Being Available
Custom Packages: As stated earlier, these packages are generally ideal for couples who book closer to their wedding date. They offer flexibility with available dates and fill in gaps for dates that weren’t booked with set packages 6 months to a year in advance. However, please note that availability for custom packages may be limited as the wedding date approaches.
Availability Notification: You will be notified as soon as possible regarding my availability to shoot, depending on how much notice you give when booking.
Payment Deadline:
Full or remaining payment must be completed 14 days before the wedding, with a four-day grace period. The final payment deadline is 48 hours before the wedding. For set packages, the remaining balance must be paid 21 days prior to the wedding, with a multi-week grace period. The final deadline for set packages is also 48 hours before the wedding.
